Rustic desks
In todays “work from home” world a good sized desk at the right height with the right esthetics is a good thing. Each of my rustic desks starts its life in my hands as reclaimed timber boards or milled timber that i have locally sourced. It is quite a process making your desk. Eack desk top is cut over sized before being thickessed and planed so that edges mate up snuggly, boards are then tenoned / joined together glued and sash clamped for 36 hours. Then its back to sanding your desk top to a super smooth and tactile finish, edges are routed with a round over cutter for that little carpenter touch. Last but by no means least i seal the wood with a blend of wax and oil that brings the desk alive and really shows the timbers natural colour.
Your handmade desk is cut to your required size to fit your home office space, made from a selection of timber to suit budget or look and rested upon a selection of table leg types whether traditional or contemporary, you choose O). I have selected a handful of hand made steel legs that are shaped and welded to perfection before being powder coated in whatever colour you would like. Match the leg to your interior design, choose the timber with the correct colour and fabulous grain that you cant leave alone and there you have it, a Salty carpenter table for life.
